2022 Australian Urban Design Awards announced

The philosophy of Hecker Guthrie is to create beauty over extravagance, prioritizing feelings and atmosphere instead of just superficially appealing furnishing. Interior Design in Australia has come a long way in recent years and is finally gaining recognition as a valuable profession. This cultural shift was in large part pioneered by the famous Australian interior designer Marion Hall Best, who advocated for the understanding of interior design as the creation of a specific and evocative atmosphere . In 1967 the Prince Philip Prize for Australian Design was set up, supported by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, with the aim of promoting greater awareness of good design in Australian engineering. Over 90 entries were received and the winning entry was a self-propelled grain header, designed by Kenneth Gibson.

Participants enter at their relevant regional level, selecting their preferred category, and are judged by a highly experienced team of building experts. Become part of our prestigious awards program by showcasing your winning designs and builds. Working as one panel, the jury members judge all shortlisted entries against the criteria in each category. This round will determine the commendations and winners at both the state and national level. The awards have unprecedented credibility and are judged by a peer-to-peer panel consisting of 15 leading international and local figures from the design world.
